Who we are

Cooking With Pleasure publishes digital recipe collections and cookbooks. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our pages, buy from us, or interact with our advertising, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Order details — the email address you give us, the product you bought, and the transaction reference. We need this to deliver your download and to provide support.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor. Card numbers never reach our systems; we see only a payment confirmation and the last digits of the card for accounting.
• Email address, if you ask to receive a free recipe sampler or our updates. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and doing so never affects access to something you have already purchased.
• Advertising and analytics data — when you arrive from one of our ads, our advertising platforms record standard campaign information such as which ad was clicked and whether a purchase followed. This is used to measure and improve our advertising.
• Our own page measurement — so we can see which pages help people and which do not, the site records anonymous activity on our own server: which page was opened, how long it stayed on screen, how far down it was read, where on the page the pointer was clicked, and which kind of element was clicked. The click position is stored as a pair of numbers — a percentage of the page width and height — together with the kind of element (a button, an image, a heading). We never record what you type, never read the contents of a field, and never capture a recording of your screen or keystrokes. This sets no cookies, sends nothing to any other company, and stores no name, email or other identifier. For counting visitors we store a page-view record alongside a value derived from your IP address and browser, hashed with a salt that is discarded every day, so a visit cannot be traced back to you or followed across days or other websites. If you accept the consent bar, we also keep a random session number so a purchase can be credited to the page and advert that led to it; if you decline, that number is never created and only the anonymous counts above are recorded.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not collect health, medical or dietary-condition data, and we do not build audience profiles of that kind.
• We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.

Who processes data on our behalf

We use established third-party services to run this business: Meta (Facebook and Instagram advertising), Stripe (payment processing), our email delivery provider, and our web hosting provider. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function, under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting obligations. Marketing email data is kept until you unsubscribe. Advertising measurement data is retained according to the advertising platform's own retention settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent for marketing. To exercise any of these, write to us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Our products are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Cookies and advertising measurement

Our pages need no tracking to work: you can read every page, take the free recipes and buy the book with all advertising cookies refused. We ask before anything non-essential loads, and we honour the answer.

• Meta pixel (advertising measurement). If you accept, we load Meta's measurement pixel. It records that a page was viewed, which advert or campaign brought you here, and — when a purchase follows — that a purchase happened. We use it to see which adverts work; Meta may use it to measure and improve advert delivery. It sets cookies and similar identifiers on your device. The controller for that processing is Meta Platforms, under its own terms.
• Your choice. Accept or refuse with the banner on your first visit. Change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. Refusing loads no Meta pixel and sends no measurement events.
• What we never do. We do not place health, medical or dietary-condition data in any advertising tool, and we do not build or upload customer lists for audience targeting.
• Legal basis. Your consent, for the pixel and any advertising cookies. Our legitimate interest in keeping the shop working, for anything strictly necessary. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page.
