This page tells you exactly how to have any data we hold about you deleted. It applies to data we collect when you buy from us, join our email list, or interact with our advertising on Facebook or Instagram.
How to request deletion
Email hello@marycooks.org with the subject line “Data deletion request”.
Include the email address you used with us (or the email address of the Facebook account you used to interact with our ads). If you have an order number, include it — it helps us find your record faster. You do not need to give a reason.
What happens next
- We confirm we received your request, normally within 2 working days.
- We delete the personal data we hold about you: your email address, your marketing and list records, and any advertising interaction records tied to you.
- We email you to confirm the deletion is complete. This is usually done within 7 days, and always within 30 days.
What we may have to keep
We must keep the record of a completed purchase for as long as tax and accounting law requires, because it is a financial transaction. That record is retained only for that legal reason, and it is not used for marketing or any other purpose once you have asked us to stop. Everything we are not legally required to keep is deleted.
If you connected our app through Facebook
If you ever authorised our app or page through Facebook, you can also remove that authorisation yourself at any time — Facebook account → Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → find us → Remove. Removing it stops any further data reaching us from Facebook. To have what we already hold deleted, email us as described above.
Advertising preferences
To stop seeing our ads, use your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences (Facebook → Settings & privacy → Ad preferences). That controls what the platform shows you; it does not by itself delete the purchase or list data you have given us — for that, email us.
